Today I have a little project for you with ombré painted bowls using Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan (my blog sponsor). This is the easiest DIY you’ll ever do! It will make a fabulous kitchen vignette.

1

I bought 6 rice bowls from Spotlight for $1.50 each. What a bargain! The bowls are porcelain and the benefit of using Chalk Paint™ it that it’s so easy to use – there’s no priming and it adheres to most surfaces – ceramic, wood, concrete, metal, plastic and much more. I knew the paint would stick straight away without any dramas. The bowls will be ‘for show’ though so I am not eating out of them, however Chalk Paint™ is a non-toxic, water-based paint that is lead-free, EG-free, odour-free and has very low volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

I wanted to create an ombré effect with the stacked bowls. I had a lot of green/blue/grey paint colours already, so I set them out on the table and thought about each bowl. I added some white to 2 of the colours to ensure I did get a good ombré effect.

Each bowl got 2 coats of paint. They dried pretty quickly. I did paint inside each bowl too. You can see which colours I used below…

Here’s the end result!

I painted the bread boards too. Here’s that DIY project.

Even pop them on a sideboard.

Check out all the Chalk Paint™ here and also find the nearest retailer (or buy online here).

Happy DIY-ing! ♥ KC.
